World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses such as PvE damage and crit chance.
If the template for upgrading a weapon ends in %, it will be able to gain 3percent of its previous damage every time it is upgraded.
The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases with the item's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets in order to give them a stat boost or an extra effect. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be placed in equipment with a slot for them; the item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade may include a suffix or prefix that alters the name of the item to the upgrade (for instancethe "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with less Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level using normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon, or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop, or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.
The player is able to have the maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will drop in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue upgrading their gear even if they're uncertain of the extent to which it will increase after a future reset.
The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process may be costly and there is a high chance that the item could become obsolete or even break when it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that can double or even eliminate the possibility of failure, and some upgrades that offer an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes in a radius around them as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in various ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 as soon as you can.
In the endgame, you will often find that the most effective way to upgrade your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes much faster.
The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restriction. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the various Glyphs, and there are also a few rare glyphs to be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs then you have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost a particular set of stat nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Leveling
The upgrade system for items lets players increase the performance of specific items by putting upgraded components inside them. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of 385. Each item level requires a different amount of components to be reached and the cost of upgrading increase as the item is leveled up.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and once enough are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When More hints is upgraded by a player to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a different item of the same kind. The same armor will receive a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own bonus. This could be a drawback because it can make the item more expensive, even if you don't require it.
Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to be able to do this. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This is a good idea but it should not be repeated often since it can be a waste of resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their equipment. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or swims like a dolphin). The item can be upgraded many times by increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP as a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value if it is not upgraded.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade item s allows players to upgrade the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currency to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense and upgrades to weapon items boost their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.
All items are upgradeable up to five times except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an item, it is given a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the more you go beyond the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will result in the item returning to its original condition and the player having to purchase more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained like chances to be crit attack damage, additional effects (such as increased heal over time, or the speed of reloading). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
If an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded increases its crit chance, the increase will be applied before any damage to attack increases. Slots is a brand new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item may have five upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have an incredibly lower cost for each upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. The player will need to carry every piece of gear they wish to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require a different amount of the ingredients for upgrading.
