Diablo 4 Item Upgrades
Items that are upgraded are components that can be put into weapons, armor and trinkets to provide an added benefit. They typically have an increased cost and require that the item be at a certain level.
Upgrades are rarely worth the cost for items that have high demands. This is particularly the case for items that don't have a lot of variance like the eth titans.
Glyphs
After reaching level 50 the action-RPG Blizzard's shifts from its streamlined campaign to the final game. The game's mechanics start to change, as players are being pushed into the Paragon Board leveling system, Nightmare Dungeons and new grinds to ensure that their character's build is as robust as it can be.
Glyphs are a major key to this process. A higher upgrade level for a Glyph increases its stat attributes and radius of effect on the Paragon Board. There are a variety of ways to gain these upgrades, but most players will find themselves relying on the primary method: raiding Faction Crypts.
Glyphs allows you to add symbols to your text. You can select from the menu on the left of the screen. It displays glyphs initially in the font that the cursor is placed however, you can also view the font in a different style or style, and you can narrow the list of glyphs to a smaller subset by selecting one of the options below Entire Font (for instance Punctuation displays only punctuation symbols). When you hover your mouse over a glyph, you can find its CID/GID and Unicode value in a tooltip.
The Glyphs Panel will keep track of your most recent 35 glyphs and display them under Recently Used in the first row (you have to expand the panel in order that you can see all 35). You can also remove any glyph that is not listed by clicking on it using the right-click option or Control-click, and then selecting Remove from Recent Glyphs.
Another feature of the Glyphs panel is the ability to create and edit a custom glyph set, which is useful when you have to type certain types of text frequently. This will help you avoid needing to manually insert each glyph whenever you need it.
A custom glyph can be made up of up to 30 glyphs. This includes the base name and its suffix. item upgrades of the base name must be uppercase English letters (A-Z) and lowercase English letters (a-z), European digits (0-9) and underscore (_). The suffix can also include ligatures, or contextual alternates. These are special versions that combine two or more letters into one glyph.
Reroll Tokens
Upgrades are the main mechanics that give extra bonuses to items, like stats. Upgrades are available in three types: rerolling, leveling up and recycling. Each type provides a different bonus on an item.
Reroll Tokens let players change the base power of an item and the number of upgrades it has as well as be used to reroll substats in ring. This is useful when an item's fully upgraded (or "potential") power is less than what the player's expectations or if the item's substats currently aren't optimal.
Rerolling is a cost of 1 token and resets the item's upgrades, but will keep the set, rarity, and level intact. When an item is leveled up, its tier increases. The primary stat of the item will be increased by 3 points for each level. Any additional stat that is randomly added will be boosted along with it. Leveling an item to its highest possible level increases its tier by 1.
The Blueprint Desk allows players to purchase new appliances, ingredients and decorations for their restaurant. Blueprints are envelopes that appear at the start of each Preparation phase. They can be opened with Grab. Each blueprint comes with a distinct icon, with each type of upgradeable items displaying different icons:
Certain recipes require the use of specific appliances or ingredients, and these can be purchased by selecting the Franchise Card from the Blueprint Desk. Certain appliances and inputs are staples, meaning that they won't be sold in the Shop or on rerolls, while others have a higher chance of appearing when the franchise card of a particular brand is chosen at the Blueprint Desk. This is known as the Staple Pool, and the items that are in it will remain in that pool for the duration of the run. The same goes for non-staple equipment. transferred to the Seed Pool when it is purchased from the Blueprint Desk.
Recycled Items
The magic happens with the third "R," recycling. You can help the environment by recycling a product made from recycled materials. The majority of recycled items are sent back to the original manufacturer to be remade as an entirely new item. We call this "closing of the recycling loop."
When a person places something in their curbside recycling bin the item is sent to a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) where it gets separated and sorted into its various components. Then, it can be sold to end-user manufacturers to be remade into something brand new. Remade products include:
This reduces the need to plant, harvest or extract raw materials from the Earth to make something new. This helps reduce the harm done to nature. Less trees are cut down, rivers are diverted, and wild animals are forced to move. It also reduces the amount of pollution caused by the dumped substances into our water, soil and air.
Recycling products can help keep local businesses and jobs going, especially for those who specialize in recycling materials. This is because demand for these products encourages companies to take part in this environmentally friendly effort.
The final reason to buy recycled is that it takes less energy to produce new products from recycled materials than to create them from raw materials. The manufacturing process for the new aluminum container requires 95% more energy than the manufacturing of a can made of recycled materials. This is why every bit counts.
Leveling
Most units are able to level-up, giving them extra XP each time they fight or get attacked. The XP used for this is used to unlock upgrades, or increase the stats of the unit. Weapons are a great example of this, as they improve their level and increase their damage and range.
Most leveling systems require a specific amount of levels to be completed but this may differ from game to game. Leveling is done by spending either coins or resources. The majority of systems use both to increase the level of an item, however a few only employ one or the other.
The issue of leveling can be a challenge in a lot of games due to the fact that it makes certain units too powerful, and other units aren't able to compete with them. Limiting the amount of leveling an individual player is allowed to do will force them to decide what they want to upgrade and the reasons behind it.
